Why did you begin practicing this area of law in the first place?

Years ago, as a new lawyer at a large downtown Cleveland law firm my rotation among various departments took me to the estate planning section.  The many sophisticated estate plans to pass family wealth to the next generation were endlessly fascinating to me, especially with my strong background in economics.  This area of law continues to be thrilling because of all of the never-ending tax law tweaks.

What is your passion? What are you passionate about? What makes you tick?

Nature is my passion. Being immersed in the sights and sounds of the world while taking a walk in a park, or sitting by a stream, lake, ocean, or even looking out of the window at all the wildlife in the back yard makes me complete.

What one quote resonates with you, either personally or professionally (or both)?

“Knowledge is Strength.”
- Author unknown, but attributed to many

Thirst for knowledge drives my personal and professional lives.  Learning new things and skills allows me to become comfortable myself and provide comfort to others.  Knowledge guides me through complex situations and relationships.  And sometimes learning simply feeds my curious streak.

Why do/should people want to and choose to work with you?

My goal is to support people around me in achieving economic and social prosperity and family peace.  As someone from a multi-cultural background raised in an intergenerational household and with formal training in diplomacy and economics, my understanding of nuanced intra-family financial and emotional dynamics is very good.  People choose to work with me because I get them and strive to make their lives better.
