WHP Welcomes New Practice, Two New Attorneys

Carmen Verhosek to concentrate in rare Elder Law; Michael Nakon joins Litigation group

Wickens, Herzer, Panza, Cook & Batista is pleased to announce Carmen Verhosek and Michael Nakon are newly appointed attorneys in its Avon office.

Ms. Verhosek is a member of the Firm’s Probate & Estate Planning department, focusing her practice on estate planning, Medicaid planning, probate and trust administration and elder law. With few elder law attorneys in the Cleveland area, Verhosek will provide support, guidance and direction to those individuals and their family members by helping them prepare a plan, preserve their wealth and protect their futures.

She received her bachelor’s degree from David N. Myers University and her juris doctorate from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Ms. Verhosek was born in Cleveland and now resides in Berea. She is a Court Appointed Special Advocate for Cuyahoga County Juvenile Court and an interpreter for immigration court family docket. Ms. Verhosek is also a member of the Norman S. Minor Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association. When able, she spends time volunteering for the Legal Aid Brief Advice clinics as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for children.

Mr. Nakon is a member of the Firm’s Litigation department, focusing his practice on employment matters, contract disputes and construction law.

He received his bachelor’s degree from Denison University and his juris doctorate from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. Mr. Nakon was born and still resides in Middleburg Heights. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Lorain County Bar Association and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and has received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award.
