Attorney Philip J. Truax to receive Ohio State Bar Foundation Award

WHP is pleased to announce that Attorney Philip J. Truax has been selected to receive the 2017 District 10 Community Service Award for Attorneys 40 and Under from the Ohio State Bar Foundation, a charitable arm of the Ohio State Bar Association.

This award is presented to attorneys, 40 years of age or younger, who contribute substantial time and effort in service to a local social service, or a local civic, artistic or cultural organization. Mr. Truax serves as a Board member for Leadership Lorain County, where he currently acts as Vice Chair of the Board. He has also spearheaded the creation of Leadership’s young professionals group, Connections: Lorain County Young Professionals. Mr. Truax is a founding member of the Bridge Board of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland, where he led the Board Development Committee and served on the Board’s Executive Committee for several years. He is also involved with the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce, the Lorain County Bar Association, the North Coast Building Industry Association, and is an active coach in Avon youth sports.

Mr. Truax is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate & Construction and Litigation Departments, serves on the Firm’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors, and is the Editor of WHP’s quarterly newsletter. He focuses primarily on construction and real estate matters, and litigating business disputes. Mr. Truax has been recognized in 2014 through 2017 as an Ohio Super Lawyers Rising Star and regularly lectures on construction, contract, and commercial topics.

The award will be presented to Mr. Truax at a District 10 meeting.
